love is sending legally purchased music

So two of my dear friends are in love and have been for a really really long time. Today, my guy friend sent his girlfriend the new Beyoncé album. He didn't rip/illegally download it. Straight legit right from iTunes. If that's not love, I don't know what is.

Who buys music these days? With free online streaming music services available, there's really no need. And if you like it enough, you can find many places to download it. So the fact that someone is willing to spend money legitimately on something that's widely accessed illegitimately is quite amazing.

It's really about the little thoughtful things in life that carry a lot of weight (maybe just for me). Big gestures go a long way too but it's the little, more frequent acts that keeps the romance going. Big gestures happen once in a while (unless you're balling out of control - in which case it's really a small thing to you), but it's about the things that happen in between the big stuff that matter.

And fuck - it's Beyoncé.
